Information about your Africa hunting safari
Hunting in Africa hopes to provide you with as much information as possible with regards to your Africa hunting safari. Please use the information to your advantage and remember to ask as many questions as possible before your arrival, no matter how trivial you may think your question is.
The information we offer is free and comes from years of practical, first-hand field experience. Before starting our own business we worked at other companies gaining experience in what to do, and specifically, what NOT to do. At Hunting in Africa we can now say with confidence which routes work, and more important, which routes are a waste of time.
The importation process of your firearms to South Africa and filling out the dreaded SAP 520 is
comprehensively discussed in the Firearms section.
Here you can download the US Customs declaration 4470 form.
Safety concerns: Hunting in Africa is as concerned about your safety as we are about our own safety! Of course there is a lot of negative press coverage of incidents in South Africa, and yes, many of those issues are quite true. However, most of the incidents are localized to mainly large metropolitan areas where we will not be while hunting. If you wish to see sites in large cities like Pretoria, Johannesbug, Cape Town and Durban, we know where to go and where not to go. Should you feel you need protection on your visit, we are well connected to Close Protection companies who supply trained body guards at a nominal fee.
Should you have any suggestions with regards to other, or additional information you would like to see on the web page, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Enjoy your hunt!
